In 2012-13 she served as the Zone Chairperson on cabinet and on completion of her year was presented with a DG appreciation award for her efforts. A highlight of the year was organising a Zone 6 Project to purchase a Turny Seat for a young girl to assist her access to her family van.
After being elected to the position of 2nd Vice District Governor at the 2014 District Convention Judy began her journey to her current position of District Governor 2017-2018.
Judy has been awarded a James D Richardson, Melvin Jones and James McLardie Award for her commitment to Lions and her community.
After over 20 years’ experience in the Financial Services and Retail Sector Judy retired in 2011 and has spent most of her time being involved in Lions Service to the Community.
Judy is very passionate about helping those doing it tough and is currently the Chairperson of the District 201 C2 Sleeping Rough project.
Judy married Frank Whinnen in 2011 and both work as a team contributing many hours to their local community. Frank has served on the board for many years and in recognition he has been awarded a James D Richardson.
When time permits Judy & Frank enjoy dinner with family & friends and going to the movies.
This year Judy has chosen the theme “Building a Better Tomorrow”.
I chose this theme as I wanted a positive and progressive theme. A theme of encouragement and reinforcement.
